IT is rare to see a cake stand so tall it towers above everything else, even appetites.

Authorities at Guinness World Records now have their work cut out for them establishing if Canberra woman Fiona Kirk can lay claim to hosting the world's tallest high tea.
Standing more than 3.5 metres tall, it boasted an impressive array of 1000 cupcakes, 600 petit fours and 400 biscuits.
It was a monument of enjoyable engineering made from plywood and sugar.
All up, there were 14 layers of treats.
So big that as of yesterday afternoon, four hours into a marathon of delightful yet sophisticated indulgence, only five layers of those sweets had been eaten away by the 200-plus people who turned up. ''We're setting the record,'' 42-year-old Fiona Kirk said.
''There was a London cupcake stand that was 2.7 metres high and only had 850 cupcakes on it. Our record will be darn hard to beat.''
It is believed between $5000 to $8000 was collected for Habitat for Humanity during the six-hour event held in Tuggeranong which included fashion parades.
Any leftover food yesterday was given to Yellow Van Food Rescue.
