1. ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA
Bell Shakespeare is back at Canberra Theatre Centre with their production of Antony and Cleopatra. AFI and Logie winner Catherine McClements plays mother, lover, and Queen, Cleopatra. It's on until Saturday, April 21. Tickets at canberratheatrecentre.com.au.
2. FREE FLICKS
Entertain the kids Saturday night at a free open-air screening of The Lego Ninjago Movie at the Gold Creek Country Club (50 Curran Drive, Nicholls). Rug up and take along a picnic or there will be food and drinks for sale (the event is alcohol-free). Gates open at 5pm, and the movie starts at 6pm.
3. HERITAGE FESTIVAL
The 2018 Canberra and Region Heritage Festival is on until April 29 with talks, tours, open days, workshops celebrating the nation's capital's heritage. For the full program and bookings see environment.act.gov.au/heritage/heritage-and-the-community/heritage_festival.
4. EARTH FESTIVAL
The Botanic Gardens will play host to The Earth Festival, a two day vegan festival with market stalls, a plant-based food court, workshops and speakers, and activities for the kids. Open 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday. Entry at the door is $15 for one day (under 12s are free) or discounted tickets are available for pre-purchase at theearthfestival.org.
5. DESIGN FOR DEMOCRACY TOUR
Go behind the scenes at Parliament House and explore the architecture, landscape, design, and art collections on this special design-focussed tour of the country's home of democracy. Tours are on Saturday at 11.30am and 2pm, and 60 minutes in length. Tickets $20-$25 from canberraticketing.com.au.
