Police pulled over "repeat offender" Alastair David Payne in Stuart Street, Griffith about 7pm on Friday.
In court documents, police described the man as smelling strongly of intoxicating liquor and having slurred speech.
The man allegedly failed to produce a licence. Checks revealed his licence had been disqualified, police said.
Payne's breath test returned a positive result, police said.
"He was conveyed to the City Police Station for the purpose of a breath analysis where he returned a reading of 0.195."
The man's licence was immediately suspended.
In the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday, Payne entered guilty pleas to five charges, including two charges from August 26 and three from October 21. He did not apply for bail.
There were two charges of driving whilst disqualified, two of driving under the influence of alcohol and one of driving while an immediate suspension notice was in effect.
The man was in breach of a suspended sentence order he was issued five months ago, the court heard.
Payne has been before the court on six prior occasions where he has been convicted of unlicensed or disqualified driving offences, court documents said.
He was remanded in custody and will come before the court again in December.
