Derek Joseph Williams, 34, admitted to more than 30 offences linked to a string of driving incidents between September and November when he faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Williams, of Kambah, was wanted by police when they received a tip-off he was at a Chisholm property and officers used a drone to track his movements the morning of November 8.

Police and specialist response forces tried to block Williams from leaving the driveway but he reversed into two of their cars, a statement of facts tendered in court said.

One of the officers got out of his vehicle and bolted towards Williams' car door, but the offender accelerated, causing the police officer to tumble on to the bonnet.

Williams accelerated again with the man still on the front of his car before he made a sharp left-hand turn, driving over a garden bed, and the man was flung onto the front lawn.

He narrowly missed the police officer, who was lying on the ground, as he drove off along the nature strip, weaving through trees and clipping more police vehicles before officers stopped him.

Williams struggled and kicked out at police but was eventually arrested and charged. A drug driving swab later tested positive for methylamphetamine, or ice.

Court documents said the injured police officer was treated in hospital for two fractures to his spine.

Two days earlier, Williams had rammed a police car and motorbike, causing a carport roof to collapse, and fled when officers tried to arrest him in Kambah.

He entered guilty pleas to the charges, linked to several separate incidents, including driving while disqualified, drug driving, failing to stop for police, aggravated driving and culpable driving causing grievous bodily harm in court.

The more serious charges were committed to the ACT Supreme Court for sentence. The less serious matters will come before the Magistrates Court again at a later date.
