While the Red Hill resident – who turned 100 years old last month – has seen many changes in prime ministers and chief ministers, she said the biggest change had been honesty among elected officials.

"I don't think politicians are reliable as they used to be," Mrs Grant said.

"Years ago, people were far more dedicated to their job than the current politicians."

Mrs Grant is among the smallest demographic of ACT voters this election; data from the ACT Electoral Commission shows there are just 59 people aged over 100 on the electoral roll, triple the number seen a decade ago.

As the population in the ACT ages, Mrs Grant said increased aged-care services in the community was a major priority.

"I'm pretty well looked after, but there are some [retirement villages] that are understaffed," she said.

"I feel really sorry for those people [who can't access the services] or if they don't have a family here in Canberra. I don't know how they manage."

With the election only two weeks away, Mrs Grant said other big issues facing Canberra included rapid population growth as well as access to public transport.

"It's certainly grown in the 6½ years I've been in Canberra," the centenarian said.

"Canberra's now becoming very scattered with lots more people. It's all growing with new suburbs popping up everywhere."

While Canberra's oldest resident died earlier this year, aged 108, the electoral roll has voters listed as old as 112 and 113.

A spokesman for the electoral commission said the anomaly could be due to errors in recording some of the date of births of electors.

"When time permits, we will ask the AEC to review the electors on the ACT roll with very advanced ages and seek confirmation that they are correctly enrolled," the spokesman said.

Many of the people aged over 100 in Canberra are expected to vote by pre-poll as the majority live in retirement villages.

The electoral commission spokesman said if voters could not get to polling booths on October 15, there would be the opportunity to submit postal votes or vote at a mobile polling station.

"For electors in nursing homes, Elections ACT will have mobile voting teams visit institutions in the week before polling day," the spokesman said.

"It is expected that the number of voters reached by mobile polling will increase at this election."

This year's election is also expected to have the largest number of pre-poll votes, with more than 2500 people voting on the first day of pre-polling.

Regardless of the election result, Mrs Grant believed her circumstances wouldn't change dramatically and was simply happy to be in good health.

"We have to be blessed when we've reached this age," she said.

"I've had such a wonderful life, I can't think of anything I've missed out on."
