Greens leader Shane Rattenbury said the party would immediately commit $2.2 million to trialling electric, hybrid, and clean biodiesel buses.
Once the trials are finished, the Greens would begin purchasing "clean, green buses".
It would spend $130 million over four years on clean energy bus technologies, and phase out existing vehicles as they came to the end of their service.
"Now that we're on track to achieve 100% clean electricity by 2020, transport is Canberra's next big pollution challenge," Mr Rattenbury said.
"We'll begin trialling electric, hybrid and clean biodiesel buses straight away, and then transition our fleet away from fossil fuels."
