Intersections are the scene of half of all car crashes in Canberra, prompting police to target dangerous behaviour at crossings.

Running red lights and stop signs were the two most common offences made at crossings in 2016, ACT Policing data shows.
Roughly 13 per cent of the 3800 traffic infringement notices given out this year so far were for breaking rules at intersections. These included speeding up at a yellow light instead of stopping and indicating at a roundabout incorrectly.
ACT Policing's acting station sergeant Marcus Boorman said police issued slightly fewer notices at intersections from 2015 to 2016, but the high accident rate showed many drivers could be safer.
"These collisions are preventable if road users take some personal responsibility and obey the signs," sergeant Boorman said.
"Whether it's a result of absent mindedness or intentional risk-taking to save time, ignoring the road rules is dangerous and potentially life threatening."
"ACT Policing will be out this month targeting road rules around intersections and no, we won't just be targeting drivers."
He said motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians were equally responsible for knowing and obeying the rules.
Overall, the most common dangerous behaviours police saw on Canberra's roads in recent years were speeding, using mobile phones while driving and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Sargeant Boorman urged drivers who ever asked themselves at intersections whether they need to give way to refresh their road rule knowledge.
Kicking off road safety week on Monday, ACT road safety minister Shane Rattenbury reminded Canberrans to be mindful of their own and others' safety whenever they get behind the wheel.
"Road safety week arises out of a particularly tragic incident on the Hume Highway," he said.
"Peter Frazer has used the particularly tragic example of his daughter in a positive sense to put a focus on all of us to take our responsibilities on the roads very seriously.
"We must be mindful that accidents can happen in a split second, with tragic consequences."
Peter Frazer founded the Safer Australian Roads and Highways [SARAH] group. His daughter, Sarah, and a tow truck driver who was assisting her after she broke down on the Hume in February 2012, were killed when a distracted truck driver ran them down.
