Police are hoping to catch a green-thumbed thief red-handed after $1000 of plants were stolen from a Conder home.

The male thief plucked a total of seven camellia, five viburnum and 11 obelia plants from the home's front yard on May 22, June 6 and July 11 and 30.

ACT Policing has released CCTV footage of the early morning thefts.
