Canberra's police have teamed up with Australian Defence Force and ACT Emergency Services personnel to break its annual Men in Uniform fundraising record, pooling together $43,482 to support White Ribbon Day.

The campaign to stop violence against women topped the $30,000 raised last year for the White Ribbon Foundation.
Aside from donations, the Air Force's C-130J Hercules aircraft helped get the word out on Tuesday, moving the foundation's recognisable white ribbon above the parliamentary triangle to draw attention to the cause.
On the ground at the territory's White Ribbon Day stalls, 1124 Canberrans pledged an oath to never commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
Ambassador and ACT chief police officer Rudi Lammers said it was encouraging to see reports of family violence to police increase in the 2013-14 financial year.
But he urged more people to call police if they knew someone who might be facing family violence.
"Every week, one woman in Australia is killed by a current or former intimate partner," he said.
"To any woman who has experienced violence at the hands of a man and who has been unable to come forward because you feel that you may be doubted, I say - 'I believe you – and so will my officers'."
Of the 274 sexual assaults reported to the Australian Federal Police in the ACT in the 2012-13 financial year, 20 per cent occurred in a domestic violence context and 33 per cent of all reported assaults were family violence related.
The figures are part of a new ACT Government factsheet, also launched on White Ribbon Day.
Canberra Rape Crisis Centre received 15,315 calls in the previous financial year, a 29 per cent increase from 2012-13.
The Domestic Violence Crisis Service has responded to 15,109 requests this year, 84.5 per cent from women.
Meanwhile, the Women's Legal Service has found 63 per cent of women seeking family law court assistance in 2014 have experienced domestic or family violence.
Minister for Women Joy Burch said the figures were "disturbing" and the ACT Government was committed to preventing violence against women.
"Ending violence against women and children involves the whole community in upholding and respecting the rights of women and children to live free from fear and experience of violence."
