The ACT government says a management shake-up at the top of Canberra's public transport network is not related to last year's changes to bus timetables and routes.

Former territory public transport director James Roncon has left the role in recent weeks and network planning and development director Ian McGlinn is currently acting in the top job.
Mr Roncon remains employed within the Territory and Municipal Services directorate and is currently charged with co-ordinating the government's broader transport reform efforts, Minister Shane Rattenbury confirmed on Tuesday.
ACTION Buses chief operating officer Bren Burkevics remains in his role, reporting to Mr McGlinn.
The clarification came after Mr Rattenbury faced questions about ACTION management structures and personnel in question time on Tuesday. Further changes to bus timetables and extra services connected to the Network 14 plan will come into effect on May 18.
Mr Rattenbury was asked by opposition transport spokesman Alistair Coe to identify ACTION's general manager and explain any recent changes in the organisation's management structure.
Mr Rattenbury said he would need to take advice from bureaucrats on the question but later clarified that there was no general manager position.
In a later interview he said Mr Roncon would now focus on "bigger picture ACTION reform" rather than day-to-day operational matters of the city-wide bus network.
"Yes, we've moved some people around - and that's what happens in the public service all the time," Mr Rattenbury said.
"Both myself and [Chief Minister] Andrew Barr have made it very clear we want to get improvements at ACTION, but what we've had done is create a separate stream of capacity to focus on improvements that are not day-to-day operations."
Mr Roncon did not return a request for comment on Tuesday evening.
Introduced in September, the Network 14 changes led to more buses in the parliamentary triangle, but it was criticised for a reduction in the number of specialist school services.
The government's transport reform agenda includes a review of the city's taxi network ahead of the expected arrival of ride-sharing application Uber.

Mr Roncon was first appointed as director of public transport in March 2010 and had previously held roles in the Land Development Agency, Cowra Council and the Carrathool Shire in New South Wales.
