Temporary closures from 6am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday means two lanes will be open to traffic at all times, while cyclists will be diverted along a cycle path parallel to Parkes Way.
Roads ACT announced today that the orange light globes used through the tunnel will all be replaced – as they are every six years – over this weekend and then completed on the weekend of April 20 to 21.
Director Tony Gill said 1148 globes will be changed over the four days of work.
This weekend, the westbound lanes of the tunnel will be affected, and then the eastbound lanes on the second weekend.
The Acton tunnel cycle lanes will be closed on both weekends, with cyclists detoured via the cycle path running parallel to Parkes Way. The detour will run from Lady Denman Drive to Lawson Crescent.
There will be no impact to weekday traffic.
