The westbound lanes of Parkes Way will be closed between the exit ramp from Edinburgh Avenue to the Glenloch Interchange. The Acton tunnel will be repaired between 8pm and 6am from Sunday August 28 to Friday September 2.
The closure will continuing over the same hours from Sunday September 4 to Friday September 9.
Westbound traffic will be diverted via Edinburgh Avenue, Marcus Clarke Street and Barry Drive where motorists can select to continue their journey south on Caswell Drive, north on Gungahlin Drive or west on Belconnen Way.
These repairs will remove the damaged roof panels, an ACT Government statement read.
"Once the roof panels are removed, subsequent work will be undertaken in the following weeks to install new panels and warning signage as well as repair sprinklers. This will occur during day time and require only a partial lane closure," it read.
Barriers, warning and diversion signs will be erected to alert people of the closure.
