Thieves have made off with aluminium frames from an ANU site, prompting a police warning for businesses to secure their work sites.
ACT Policing said the aluminium materials, measuring 7.8 metres in length, were stolen from the China in the World site on Fellows Road in Acton.
Police said they believed there may be attempts to on-sell the material to a company in the metal industry, or sold for scrap.
The box section framework was coated in a dark grey powder coating.
ANU security footage will be reviewed by police during the course of the investigation.
Due to the length of the framework, police believe a truck of large vehicle with carrying racks would have been used to transport the products.
Police said the robbery occurred some time between June 20 and August 6. The theft was not noticed by workers due to the large quantity of the product on the site.
