4.30am Three 15-minute excerpts will be read from letters and diaries of Australians who experienced war firsthand.
5.15am All will be quiet before the Dawn Service commences in darkness.
5.30am Dawn services starts.
6am Dawn service concludes.
6.15am The Commemorative Area will open after the Dawn Service.
8am The Commemorative Area closes. The entire Memorial will then reopen following the National Ceremony at about 12.45pm, and will remain open until 5pm.
ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER COMMEMORATIVE CEREMONY
6.30am Starts after the Anzac Day Dawn Service and is held at the Aboriginal Memorial plaque on the side of Mount Ainslie.
NATIONAL CEREMONY
Tickets for the National Ceremony can be purchased online, but numbers are limited.
If seating is at capacity, attendees can bring their own chairs or rugs to watch the ceremony from outside ticketed seating areas or on large screens on the AWM grounds.
9.15am Seating for the National Ceremony opens. Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
10.30am Ceremony starts. It begins with the traditional order of service, including the national anthems of Australia and New Zealand, the Commemorative Address, the laying of wreaths, the reading of hymns, the sounding of the Last Post, and the observance of one minute's silence.
10.55am Veterans march starts.
12.45pm (approx) National Ceremony ends and entire memorial will reopen
LAST POST CEREMONY
The daily Last Post Ceremony commences at 4.55pm. All members of public are welcome to attend.
The ceremony will also be broadcast live via webcam on the memorial's website.
General information
Allow plenty of time to travel to the Memorial.
Use of the free shuttle service or public transport is recommended.
Those planning on walking to the Memorial via Anzac Parade should keep to the footpaths and remain off the road as the shuttle buses will be in operation.
This is an informal ceremony, with visitors standing on the Parade Ground and surrounds.On-site lighting is provided until 5.15am.
Attendees are advised to wear warm clothing and bring torches.
Parking, transport and visitor information
Seating
There is no allocated seating for the Dawn Service. Visitors are welcome to occupy the seating put in place for the National Ceremony, or stand on the Parade Ground. Seating is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Visitors will be required to vacate this seating at the conclusion of the Dawn Service. Please be aware that the grounds can be uneven and may be icy or slippery in the early hours of the morning. Caution is advised when entering the site or seating area.
Road Closures
Road closures around the Australian War Memorial in effect from 3.30am until 1pm on Monday.
Traffic from Limestone Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue diverts onto Treloar Crescent. Anzac Parade is closed from Constitution Avenue, including the Blamey Crescent and Currong Street intersection.
Parking
There is limited parking onsite for mobility impaired visitors only. Vehicles displaying a government issued parking pass will be granted access. Parking is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Access to car parks is via Treloar Crescent.
Public Transport
The Australian War Memorial and ACTION Buses will be providing free bus services to and from the dawn service and national ceremony. This year, ACTION has requested passengers pre-register their travel to the ceremonies.
