Canberra's Aspen Medical has been awarded the gold medal in the International Humanitarian Aid category at the International Project Management Association (IPMA) awards in Warsaw, Poland.

It is yet another accolade for the team that led the Ebola response effort on behalf of the Australian, New Zealand, US and UK governments in Sierra Leone and Liberia in from 2014 to 2015.
On its Facebook page, Aspen Medical Australia said the gold medal won on Thursday was: "Great recognition for the backroom team who pulled it together, the health professionals who travelled to West Africa and the African national staff".
It has been a busy time on the awards circuit for the medical group, with its founders Glenn Keys and Dr Andrew Walker last month named the 2016 Australian Entrepreneurs of the Year.
The IPMA award recognised Aspen Medica's management of the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
Despite deploying hundreds of health professionals to the afflicted areas, Aspen Medical recorded a zero infection rate.
Mr Keys and Dr Walker started Aspen Medical 13 years ago.
In the years since Aspen Medical has expanded to a team of more than 2200 health professionals across every continent, saved East Timor's president Jose Ramos Horta after an assassination attempt, and provided health care in remote indigenous communities across the Northern Territory
