Great Aussie Day Breakfast
The Australia Day festivities will require a full tummy of fuel and sizzling sausages, fresh fruit, beverages and yogurt are the way to go. These are all available free (a gold-coin donation to Snowy Hydro South Care is encouraged) at Stage 88, Commonwealth Park from 7:30am.

MS Colour Dash
The madly fun 5km walk/run/crawl where participants are showered in a rainbow of coloured dust will be held at the Black Mountain Peninsula in Acton at 9am.
Cost: Registration is $50 for adults; $25 of children under 16 and $100 for a family (two adults and two children).

Australia Day in the Park
A children's concert featuring Dora's Dance Party and Bridge Between. Kids will have oodles of fun on the rides, activities and amusements. Hands on activities include Australian craft and face painting.

Flag Raising Ceremony
Watch with pride as Australia's Federation Guard raises the Australian National flag at 10am at the Rond Terrace, Commonwealth Park.

Flyover and 21 Gun Salute
Catch the awesome speed and sound of the aerial flyover and the 21 gun salute as they come from Parliament house towards Lake Burley Griffin. Don't blink or you may miss it - 10:30am at Rond Terrace, Commonwealth Park is the best place to get a spectacular view.

Welcome Australia's newest citizens
The national citizenship ceremony will be at Rond Terraces from 10:30am. Governor-General, Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Prime Minister Tony Abbott will be present to welcome our newest Australians.

Australia Day Festival
Head to the National Museum of Australia for a fun day out for the whole family. Experience new exhibitions with curator talks and participate in hands-on craft and general activities between 10am-2pm.

Chief Minister's sailing Regatta
More than 100 boats will compete against each other for the Chief Minister's Cup, providing spectators with colourful entertainment at the Canberra Yacht Club, Lake Burley Griffin. Take a picnic along if you're not competing and watch as the boats go head-to-head from noon onwards.

Come and support your women's soccer team Canberra United, play on their home ground of McKellar Park at 3pm against Perth Glory.

A spectacular Finale
The Australia Day Fireworks Spectacular is an annual show that captivates kids and the children at heart. The stunning fireworks are best viewed from Regatta Point or the lawns of the National Library of Australia. The show starts with a bang at 9pm. Don't forget a rug because it will be chilly!
