Canberra will become a fixture on the international cricket calendar for at least the next four years under an agreement between the ACT government and Cricket Australia.

Manuka Oval will host either a one-day international or a Twenty20 international featuring the Australian cricket team every summer from this year to 2018-19.
Reigning World Cup champions Australia will take on India in a 50-over fixture under lights in what promises to be a sell-out on January 20 next year.
The annual Prime Minister's XI fixture will be retained, and World Cup runners-up New Zealand are the likely opponents, but a date has yet to be finalised.
The agreement between the government and CA builds on last year's unprecedented summer of cricket, which featured a one-day international, the PM's XI, the Big Bash League final and three World Cup games.
CA acting chief executive Mike McKenna said the decision to have more cricket at Manuka Oval was a "no-brainer".
"To make a long-term commitment to this venue and the people of Canberra and the ACT is just rewards for what we've seen here: international cricket, domestic cricket and the great success of the Big Bash final," McKenna said.
"It reflects the [investment] government has made in this great venue and the interest the people of Canberra have shown and development of cricket in the ACT."
The government has invested more than $16 million in Manuka Oval during its redevelopment, including light towers, additional seating and re-laying the playing surface.
Chief Minister Andrew Barr said he couldn't disclose how much the four-year deal would cost the government, citing a commercial in-confidence arrangement with CA.
"There are hire fees, revenue sharing," Barr said. "I guess the principal underlying this is that this venue isn't as large as some others, not dissimilar to other hire arrangements here.
"We needed to make an up-front payment, but we get a revenue stream back to us.
"There is a strong incentive for us to get a full house and that minimises the cost and, presuming we get a reasonable flow through the concession outlets and the like, then the cost to taxpayers is fairly limited.
"We'll, of course, through our budget cycle, make the upfront payment clear and then there's the offsetting amounts that flow back to government."
Barr said the deal with CA provided more incentive to make further upgrades to Manuka Oval.
The next step for Canberra was to secure a team in the Big Bash League.
"The question for Cricket Australia is what's the right time to expand," McKenna said about the BBL. "At the moment, there is no plan to expand.
"At the right time we will look at that and then we will assess all of the cities that have pitched, but Canberra has certainly made a great claim."
Canberra will also host a women's one-day international between the Southern Stars and India on February 2.
The Australian men's cricket team played its first game in Canberra during the national capital's centenary celebrations in 2013.
Michael Clarke and his team returned in November last year for a one-day international against South Africa.
That was the start of a huge summer of cricket in Canberra.
More than 23,000 fans attended the three World Cup games at Manuka Oval, while two million television viewers watched the BBL final in January.

The GWS Giants have a 10-year agreement with the government ending in 2021 to play four games a season at the ground.
