Approaches to reducing domestic violence through marketing campaigns, lessons from the private sector and two-way dialogue between government agencies and the public will be discussed during the day-long event at the National Convention Centre.
The summit will also focus on the broader challenges in public sector marketing, including the demand for customer-centred design, the digitisation of services and the need to measure, as well as gain, greater results from campaigns aiming to change social behaviour.
Women's marketing expert Linda McGregor from All About Eve, behavioural change speaker and Clemenger BBDO managing director Andrew Holt and expenditure analyst and Colmar Brunton chief executive Joan Young will speak at the summit.
The commercial director of Fairfax Media, Rodney House, which publishes The Canberra Times, will discuss how mobile platforms have forced business to change how they engage with consumers.
The summit, organised by the Australian Marketing Institute, will wrap up with a ceremony at which the Awards for Marketing Excellence's ACT finalists will receive their certificates.
A mentoring program will also be launched for emerging marketers in the ACT after the success of similar programs in other regions.
