The 36-year-old from Reid faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday, June 28, accused of armed robbery and possession of a knife.
Police said the woman, Melissa Anne Bennett, had entered the Coles Express Service Station in Mort St, Braddon just before 5pm on Friday, June 27.
She allegedly threatened the console operator and then fled with cash and was seen riding off in the direction of Haig Park on the mountain bike.
ACT Policing patrols searched the surrounding area and allegedly found Bennett in Henty St, Braddon and seized the bicycle as evidence.
In support of her bail application, the court was told Bennett had a two-year-old son she needed to care for. The child had been spending time with family members but he needed to be collected. The court was told Bennett, who was unemployed, had denied suggestions she had a drug problem.
Magistrate Peter Morrison said Bennett would have to abide by strict conditions while on bail including submitting to a urine analysis, abstaining from illicit drugs, reporting to police weekly and accepting monitoring from court appointed drug and alcohol authorities. He said she would also have to stay away from the service station as part of her bail conditions.
He adjourned the case until July 18.
