Last week Greg Stretton, SC, was elected president of the ACT Bar Association.
The veteran advocate with four decades in the law specialises in administrative law, insurance, workers compensation and coronials.
He is a past president of the ACT Law Society, and only the second person to have held both positions since John Gallop, a former judge of the ACT Supreme Court who resigned a decade ago.
Mr Stretton succeeds Philip Walker in the Bar Association's top job. Graeme Blank has been elected vice-president.
