A man was hospitalised after a bus and a small car were involved in a head-on crash yesterday afternoon.
A Transborder bus and a small Kia hatchback collided near the Oaks Estate Road and Pialligo Avenue just before 4.50pm.
The crash left the front of the Kia heavily damaged, trapping the male driver.
Firefighters from ACT Fire and Rescue used the jaws of life to free the man.
He was trapped in his vehicle for about 10 minutes, and was taken to Canberra Hospital by NSW paramedics with minor injuries.
Two ACT Fire and Rescue pumpers also attended.
The front of the bus was damaged and the windscreen was partially shattered.
The bus driver was unhurt and there were no other passengers.
Police blocked off Pialligo Avenue immediately after the accident, holding up peak-hour traffic.
