An 18-year-old Curtin man has been charged after robbing a bus driver and threatening him with a Stanley knife in Civic on Wednesday night.

Police say the man caught a bus from Watson to the City interchange around 11.35pm and was the only passenger on the bus.
When the bus arrived at the interchange, the man pulled a Stanley knife on the driver and demanded cash. The driver complied and handed over a bag of cash, mostly full of coins.
The 18-year-old fled on foot towards City Walk and the bus driver reported the incident to police.
Officers later noticed a man matching the description of the offender walking through Bega Court in Reid around 12.45am.
The man fled when he sighted police. Officers chased the teen before catching him in possession of a Stanley knife and a large number of coins.
He was taken to the ACT Watch House and charged with aggravated robbery and will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
