Police say a Duntroon cadet showed no surprise when detectives showed up on his doorstep at 5am and accused him of sexually assaulting the wife of a colleague at her Royal Military College home.

Former officer cadet Paul Edward Buckley, 24, is on trial in the ACT Supreme Court, accused of sexually assaulting the woman in the early hours of April 5 last year after a formal company dinner event for cadets.
The court has heard that, while at the dinner, Buckley had repeatedly joked with the woman's husband that the trio should have a threesome.
He was told to leave the party by a superior later that night, and the Crown allege he then went to the woman's home.
The complainant says she was lying asleep on the couch, but woke to the sound of her door opening. She heard footsteps travel up and down the stairs, before the man came into the lounge room where she lay.
Buckley did not say anything, instead forcing himself on the woman, kissing her neck, pulling down her pants, and performing a number of sexual acts.
The house was dark, and the woman says she thought the man was her husband, but says she was pushing him away.
She says she began to realise something was wrong, and ultimately realised the man was not her husband when she asked him if he was all right, to which Buckley allegedly replied "yep".
She then allegedly chased him from the house, and turned a light on to see Buckley as he ran.
The woman, who cannot be named, immediately called triple-0, and told them she had been assaulted by Buckley.
The defendant's barrister Ken Archer has agreed Buckley was in the house and performed the sexual acts, but has signalled that the issue of consent is in dispute.
Police attended the woman's home about 3am, and later that morning, at 5am, knocked on the door of Buckley's home at the Duntroon campus.
ACT Policing Detective Michael Harris told the court on Tuesday that Buckley opened the door almost immediately.
Buckley was told that a woman had accused him of sexually assaulting her earlier that morning.
The detective said Buckley did not appear to be surprised in any way, and didn't ask any clarifying questions about the allegations.
He was then asked to go to the police station for further questioning.
The trial continues on Wednesday before Acting Justice John Nield.
