The party's ACT Senate candidate Simon Sheikh says federal funding to the institution should be increased to allow entrance fees to be abolished.
''Questacon makes a significant scientific and educational contribution to not only the local Canberran community but to the student groups and tourists who visit from around Australia and all over the world,'' he said.
''Questacon's fees are prohibitive to many Canberrans and act as a barrier to Questacon delivering the full value of the service it offers.''
The admission fees for the centre are $23 for an adult and $70 for a family pass.
The parliamentary budget office says that the policy to abolish admission fees would cost $4.8 million a year.
