Firefighters were called to the Melbourne Avenue School shortly before midday after an electrical smoke smell was reported.

It is believed the fire alarms did not sound.

Ten teachers were removed from the seniors building in the school as a precautionary measure.

It is understood no students were affected as years 11 and 12 had finished their exams.

No other parts of the school were affected.

Fire crews were unable to locate the source of the smell and gave the all-clear shortly after 1pm.
