In a quest set to make the Hunger Games look like a casual long weekend camping by comparison, Canberrans are being invited to join in a city-wide scavenger hunt as IKEA prepares to open its Majura Park store on November 16.

For the next month, four different iconic IKEA products will be hidden around Canberra each week, with only a cryptic clue to help discerning IKEA tragics track them down.
Those fortunate enough to find the catalogue items can snap a picture with the product and upload it to social media using the hashtag #IKEAHidden.
Creativity is key, as the best photo entries for the week will snag a $50 IKEA gift card and could become part of the online IKEA Hidden Catalogue.
This gets you in with a chance to win the grand prize of a $1000 IKEA gift card to use in store – or 125 serves of Swedish meatballs at the IKEA restaurant, if you're so inclined.
IKEA Canberra store manager Mark Mitchinson said early on, the flatplack giant found that Canberrans liked to play games.
"The excitement in the local community of Canberra is very overwhelming so we decided to have a bit of fun before we opened the doors in November," he said.
But don't be lulled into thinking it's going to be easy, Mr Mitchinson said.
"Some of the clues are a little more cryptic than others and some of them I can't solve myself and I needed to do a little bit more research," Mr Mitchinson said.
"They're not always in the iconic areas of Canberra. We've found some great niche areas of Canberra where people can go out and find our products, take a photo of themselves and enter our competition."
Here are your first four clues. May the odds be ever in your favour.
Clue 1: Make sure you give this clue a good read, sssssssh! But please read it quietly. Dickens, Shakespeare and Hemingway all reside in this Aussie icon.
Clue 2: See the light in a New Acton wine bar between West Basin and a Scottish city
Clue 3: Head to the foreshore made for royalty and look for the blue C. Once inside find a table and rearrange palm to hold the light in your hand.
Clue 4: Straighten out your bike wheels and cycle down to this keeper of craft beers in Braddon. Don't let the barman pull the rug from under you before you get your photo.
