Next year looks set to be a huge year for burlesque in the capital, with national acts lined up to perform at some of our sauciest little venues.
Burlesque - traditionally performed in a variety show format and featuring "bawdy comedy and female striptease" - is hugely popular with Canberra audiences.
Shows at the The World Famous Spiegeltent, erected in front of Canberra Theatre Centre for two weeks earlier this year, completely sold out or were standing room only.
The ACT also has a stunning collective of burlesque performers, including Miss Burlesque ACT for 2016, Jazida, Creme de la Crop and Mandy Bandersnatch.
Upcoming burlesque events in the capital include Arabian Nights, featuring an exotic and talented line-up of belly dance artists, Highbrow at the LoBrow, featuring a shocking Little Mermaid parody by Melbourne artist Camilla Cream, and The Alice in Wonderland Party at Polit Bar.
