For those who claim they can't even function before their first cup of coffee, those in the inner north can now get their takeaway morning brew without even getting out of the car.
Ave Cafe, a hole-in-the-wall coffee spot, opened last week in the The Avenue apartments in Turner, on the corner of Moore Street and Barry Drive.
Owner Steve Ning, who is an accountant by profession, has owned the space for a number of years, and it was previously occupied by a real estate agent. When they vacated, he decided to try something a bit different, so he hired experienced barista Al Hare and opened the coffee spot.
The small venue is all about convenience, and coffee is available to order through an app to be ready to pick up and go, although they will also take face-to-face orders and payment. At the moment, Ave Cafe only sells hot drinks, and coffee is a personalised roast from Bean!Roasters by Cosmorex.
Through the app, you can also opt to have your coffee brought to your car - you just add in your number plate and a brief car description to your order. The app will notify you when your coffee is ready, and you just drive up to the pick up spot on Moore Street, and your coffee will be handed to you.
Ave Cafe is open 6am-3pm Monday to Friday. You can order via facebook.com/theavecafe.
