Capital Brewing Co has announced that Brodburger is moving in as the food option at their new Fyshwick brewery and tap room.

"It's pretty important to have awesome food with awesome beer - and these two are gonna match each other really well," said Capital's co-founder Laurence Kain.

All systems are now go at the brewery with the first brew, the trail pale ale, put on on Wednesday, which will be ready for the tap room's opening event on September 9.

It's the first Canberra brew for Capital, which launched just over 12 months ago and has been 'gypsy brewing' at several sites in Sydney up until now.

"We're gonna be full time brewing now in Canberra, and we'll just keep those tanks full and turning over. And then on Thursday and Friday next week we'll be running off cans, so we'll do about 10,000 litres of product into cans next week," Mr Kain said.

The tap room will serve 12 beers freshly brewed on site, with a beer garden, a cubby house for the kids, brewery games, plus food from Brodburger.

The originally Brod van, which has been based at The Hamlet in Braddon selling Broddogs, also moved into the Capital brewery on Wednesday, ready for the taproom's opening.

"We'll be serving four burgers at a time, which we'll be rotating every now and then, plus two hot dogs and the cheesy chips - keeping the menu shorter significantly keeps the wait time down," said Brodburger owner Joelle Bou-Jaoude.

"We're so excited to be working with the Capital guys, it's been such a natural collaboration and it's really good to see two Canberra brands working together and complementing each other."

The brewery is part of the new Dairy Road District in Fyshwick, an almost 20,000-square-metre, warehouse-style precinct being developed by Canberra's Molonglo Group, which will also house a coffee roster, an indoor ski centre and designers.
