Canberra Artist Erica Seccombe wins Parmor Art & Innovation Prize

Canberra artist Erica Seccombe has just taken out the prestigious Paramor Prize for Art and innovation at the Casula Powerhouse Art Centre in Liverpool, Sydney.

The $20,000 prize was awarded for her work Virtual Life, created with the help of a new and massive Inkjet printer at the ANU School of Art.

The prize, which is in its first year, is designed to "encourage new ways of seeing, experiencing and interpreting the world around us".

It was set up in memory of Australian artist Wendy Paramor, one of the country's most important mid-century artists, who died in 1975.
