All of Canberra cinemas including Hoyts, Dendy, and Palace will be open on Good Friday and over the Easter long weekend.
Canberra Connect shopfronts will be closed from Good Friday and reopen on Tuesday April 7. The Canberra Connect Contact Centre on 13 22 81 will be open on Saturday April 4 between 9am and 5pm but will be closed on Good Friday, April, Sunday, April 5 and Easter Monday on April 6.
Woolworths and Coles supermarkets will mostly be open between 7am and 10pm on Saturday and Sunday. All stores will be closed on Friday April 3. We advise checking your local store for specific opening times.
The Department of Human Services will be closed on Good Friday 3 April 3 and Easter Monday April 6 with self-service still available. Customers can use their myGov account, online accounts, Express Plus mobile apps and phone self-service during the Easter holiday period to report employment income. However, if this is done on a public holiday payment will not be made until after the public holiday.
Australia Post Offices are generally closed on Friday April 3, Saturday April 4 and Monday April 6. No mail or parcel deliveries will take place on these public holidays including Express Post items.
All ACT Libraries are closed on Friday April 3, Saturday April 4 and Monday April 6. After-hours chutes available for the return of library materials will be open on Friday and Saturday at the Woden and Dickson branches only and at all sites again on Sunday and Monday.
However, the National Library of Australia exhibition galleries and the bookshop will be open from Saturday 4 April–Monday 6 April from 10 am–5 pm.
Garbage and recycling collections due on Friday 3 April 2015 will instead be collected on Saturday 4 April 2015.
Mugga Lane Resource Management Centre, Symonston and Mitchell Resource Management Centre, Flemington Road, Green Waste Recycling Centre in Belconnen, The Green Shed will be closed on Good Friday.
Domestic Animal Services will be closed Good Friday April 3, Sunday 5 and Monday 6 April 2015. The service will be open as per normal between 10am – 3pmon Saturday April 4.
The Yarralumla Nursery is closed over the Easter long weekend and will reopen on Tuesday April 7.
