LATIN AMERICAN FLAVOURS festival is on at the Hyatt Canberra, with a buffet dinner every night dedicated to a different Latin American country, a collaboration between the embassies. Dinner is $69 a person. Kicks off on Friday and runs until September 22. See canberra.park.hyatt.com.

EMBROIDERS' GUILD EXHIBITION is on Albert Hall all weekend. Along with a variety of needlework there will be the items created for the recycle challenge, and a display of gadgets that make stitching easier.
