The 2017 Canberra Times Fun Run will take off on Father's Day. Father and son Chris and Luke Manwaring will use the 10-kilometre course to spend some quality time together.

The Manwarings were originally from Cootamundra. Chris, a 51-year-old financial planner, now lives in Wagga Wagga and Luke, 24, is now living in Coombs and in his first year teaching at Torrens Primary School after completing an education degree at the University of Canberra
But they will reunite on the weekend for the run. While they will be providing motivation and encouragement for each other, there seemed to be some friendly disagreement when the subject arose as to who was faster.
Luke initially said, "He'd probably tell you he is" before conceding, "We'll be pretty even - we'll run together."
Chris said, "There are five of us - [there's also] my wife Julie, my older son Brad, 24 and my daughter Sophie, 19 ... we've all run in the Sydney City to Surf."
This time, though, it will just be the one son and his father running. Chris said he was a keen runner, having run in the City to Surf four times and the Wagga City to Lake four or five times. This will be his second Canberra Times Fun Run - his first was some years ago - and Julie will be waiting at the end so they can all go out when the run is finished.
"I like the party atmosphere afterwards," he said.
Luke - who dressed up as the Big Bad Wolf at school recently for Book Week and said he was "loving" his job - began running about 10 years ago to improve his fitness and endurance while also playing soccer. He used to run with a group while at university but since graduation and moving he has taken to running solo.
He said this would be his first Canberra Times Fun Run.
"The 10 kilometres will test me - I don't normally run that far."
