A vintage styling workshop is being held on Saturday 4 March, hosted by Chrissy Keepence and a team from The Lindy Charm School for Girls.
The day kicks off with a session on good posture and posing for photos, with hair and make-up workshops following. Workshop attendees will learn to create a perfect pin curl, victory rolls, setting hair and fringe care, as well as how to put on a vintage-inspired make-up base to build upon.
The day will cover styles, colours and applications from the 1930s through to the late 1950s.
"If there are Canberrans looking for that old Hollywood timeless beauty regime, then this is the perfect day," Chrissy said.
"The workshops are fun, informative and are much more than lipstick, powder and paint."
An "aficionado of 20th century style", Chrissy's love for retro and vintage style started with swing dancing. She launched the Lindy Charm School for Girls in 2005 when other dancers and dance students would beg to know her hair and make-up styling secrets.
"Every girl deserves to look and feel confident and glamorous, regardless of age, shape or dress size," she said.
"Yet in this modern era of poorly-tailored, throw-away fashion and fickle hair and make-up trends, women are finding it harder than ever to hit upon a look that complements, rather than conceals their inherent beauty."
