The Canberra Haigh's is scheduled to open on November 2, with a store decked out in the company's traditional style with jarrah, Tasmanian oak, marble and glass.
For Canberrans, the chocolates have long been the treat stashed in the bags of friends and relatives on their return from interstate.
Alister Haigh said the family-owned business has been looking at options for a Canberra store for, "quite a few years".
"We've done some data analysis and found out quite a few of our transactions here in Adelaide are actually from people that have their credit cards based in Canberra," he said.
"And our federal politicians have always asked why we haven't got a store there. The climate and demographic suit us as well so we've been looking at Canberra for a while, it was a matter of finding the right site and landlord."
Mr Haigh said the Canberra store will stock the full Haigh's range, including plenty of milk speckles, which are the top selling product.
Like all other stores, there will also be free samples on offer.
The luxury confectioner, which has been around since 1915, currently has stores in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
Haigh's introduced online shopping and country-wide delivery in 2016, but this will be the first time customers will be able to browse the shelves of hand-made products, sealed with their gold label, in person in Canberra.
Canberra Centre's "lifestyle precinct" is the second stage of development of the Monaro Mall, sitting upstairs from the ground floor beauty precinct, which opened in July.
Stores also announced in the new precinct include Melbourne's herb and spice merchants Gewürzhaus, homeware brands Top3 by Design, Le Crueset and The Pen Boutique, fashion store Husk, and Parisian jeweller Les Nereides.
Existing Canberra Centre stores Nespresso, Arnold & Co, Pepe's Paperie, Bed Bath and Table, and The Tea Centre will also move to the precinct.
They will join the highly-anticipated opening of Swedish fashion retailer H&M, which is expected open before the end of the year.
