Not being too familiar with the show I didn't really know what to expect, so when Fielding arrived on stage in a glittery cape and sporting devil horns I didn't suspect anything out of the ordinary.

It started out with jokes about his age (he is 41, did you know?), and the how he has never had a real job, turning down a position at an English hardware store ("What's the Australian one again? Bunyips?").

Fielding then imaged himself as a herbal tea bag, the blend undetermined, and positioned himself in the tea world where he was mocked by fennel (because he had no scent) and was envious of English Breakfast (as it always gets picked).

There was a sexy milk song sung, in which no milk was forgotten – almond, coconut, soy and even coffee mate.

It wasn't until an item about a hybrid chicken-man with a Southern accent and a bum-bag that things started to get really strange. "I'm not sure if this is comedy or a mental breakdown," Fielding said – and to be honest, I wasn't sure either.

The second half of the show was colourful, psychedelic and made very little sense. Fielding asked the audience to hold hands, close their eyes and chant their way into the Fantasy Zone; a zone which must exist only inside Fielding's brain – and is perhaps the weirdest of wonderful places – including an adulterous triangle and a talking moon.

Fielding is then kidnapped and a cop (who looked suspiciously like Fielding in a fat suit) enlisted the audience's help to find him.

It is determined that Fielding has been taken inside Plasticine World and is being held hostage and "Steve" from the audience must help to save him. In the end it is Steve's penis that saves the day. Don't ask.

At 41 Fielding probably is too old to be wearing a plastic cup on his chin, however there were laughs galore and I was sad to step back into the reality of my cold Canberra night. Fielding I hope you don't grow up anytime soon.
