Teenage Canberra dancer Isabelle Steward will fly the Big Apple next month to join an intensive dance program with Rockefeller icons, the Radio City Rockettes.
Thousands of dancers across the world applied for the opportunity, with Isabelle the only successful Canberra applicant.
The legendary New York dance company was founded in 1925 and each year performs America's number one holiday production Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes. The Rockettes performed at the inauguration of Donald Trump in 2017.
Isabelle, 17, said she had been following the Rockettes all her life and described being selected as "the opportunity of a lifetime".
"I'm just looking forward to meeting the Rockettes and learning from them," she said.
Natalie Pearse, director of Pointe 2 Pointe dance school and Isabelle's dance teacher, said was she "incredibly proud of Isabelle and all of her hard work".
"She's incredibly organised and dedicated," Natalie said.
Isabelle dances all day on Saturday and nearly every afternoon during the week, as well as being a dance teacher at Pointe 2 Pointe. After completing Year 12 this year, Isabelle wants build a career as a professional dancer.
