5PM - THE WASTE LAND
The Waste Land is one of the most influential poems of the twentieth century, but remains one of the most difficult to understand. The Waste Land comes alive when performed: its images become more striking, its characters become more desperate in their search for spiritual renewal, and its brooding lyricism becomes a dark and irresistible music which will continue to haunt audiences long after they have left the theatre. Cellist David Pereira and actor Julian Lamb bring a fusion of music and spoken word that will appeal to aficionados of the poem as well as those who have never encountered it.
