Packwood not only works for ACT Policing but also calls the Canberra Raiders games for ABC Radio Canberra. In a previous life, the sports tragic was a media spokesperson for the Australian Sports Commission.

Following on from this week's announcement about the retirement of Kenny's long-time mate, Stewart Waters, and the appointment of Packwood as his replacement, we thought we'd revisit some of the zinger one-liners Packy's pulled out over the years calling the Raiders games from the sidelines.

One of our personal favourites was from a game not long after pop star Michael Jackson died in 2009. During a Raiders' golden-point win, Packy declared: 'How incredible on the week that the King of Pop was laid to rest we've ended up with a THRILLER'."

Another time, when a fullback dropped a bomb, Packy reckoned, 'He was as nervous as a fly in a Mortein factory'.

And last week, when St George Illawarra at one point made it 14-all against the Raiders, Packy summed it up with: "The Dragons are like John Farnham, just when you think they're done, they keep coming back".

We know the kids will get a kick out of "Packy" too; the father-of-two determined to maintain the very important role of teaching youngsters about safety, in real life and online.

"I've scored the best job in ACT Policing and its very humbling to be taking over from a legend like Stewart," David said.

"I'm very lucky that I have been found to have the right koalafications to deliver koality programs to the children of Canberra!"

Oh Packy!
