Hidden gem? I love taking the dogs to Uriarra Crossing. It's a nice place to have a swim, the dogs have a great time, and it's a good atmosphere. I really like to take a picnic. It's very relaxing out there with the Murrumbidgee River winding through the hills.
Weekend haunt? I'm a big fan of The Knox at Watson, I like to take the dogs down there even if I end up feeling embarrassed when they misbehave. There's a really nice vibe there and I like the food, particularly the burgers, and their cakes are awesome. Getting further from home I'm a huge Canberra Raiders fan, down to my green Raiders number plates on the car.
Place to take visitors? I like to take visitors to the War Memorial. I think it's the best museum in Canberra, and a real cultural icon. I really appreciate the tribute to our war veterans. I also like to take visitors up to the top of Mount Ainslie to get the full view of Canberra. We tend to cheat and drive to the top though.
People watching spot? BentSpoke in Braddon. I love to watch the looks on people's faces, seeing if they enjoy the beer and the atmosphere. When you've put years of effort into a place it's really rewarding to see they love it as much as you do. I also like to watch people down by the lake.
Place to unwind? I like to unwind sitting out on the deck in the sun at home with some 90s rock blaring. If I need to get out of the house I love walking up Mount Majura. When I get the time I'm a big fan of a HIIT workout (high intensity interval training).
Treat? Chocolate is my weakness. Either Koko Black, or Max Brenner. I go for the hot chocolate and waffles, or the chocolate fondue. The fondue comes with fruit so that's kind of healthy isn't it? I like to think it is.
