The National Gallery of Australia has announced its next summer blockbuster, Treasures from Versailles, an exclusive exhibition that's being developed in partnership with the French Government and the Palace of Versailles.
The show will involve items never before seen outside France, but beyond this, no other information is available.
The palace is still a major draw on the European tourist trail, with 7 million visitors drifting through its gilded rooms each year.
European art, and French art in particular, has historically also been a favourite for NGA visitors, and several of its most successful blockbusters have been French, including the show to end all shows, 2010's Masterpieces from Paris, which broke all Australian records for visitation and revenue.
Versailles - Treasures from the Palace will open in December.
