Jack Johnson, Pandora. His voice is my zen; it reminds me of sitting on the beach with friends or long road trips along the coast.
Describe your sound?
My sound is electronic dance music with some old school throwbacks, but I also love a good tropical nu disco pool party.
Tell us something about where you grew up and how it influenced your sound?
I grew up in Perth, Western Australia, always at the beach and with friends, listening to all kinds of music non-stop – this influenced my style, to mix up my sets and always do a good throwback we all used to love.
How do you prepare for a gig?
I go on some blogs and do some research on what is trending at that moment and incorporate it into my sets so I'm always up to date with the latest tracks.
What's the greatest thing you have seen on stage?
Fleetwood Mac at Madison Square Garden was the most incredible thing I have ever seen.
What's your best piece of touring advice?
Always take a little piece of home with you. For me, that is Vegemite, my pillow and my bracelet from my parents I got when I was young.
Also plan everything out; for example, I always set aside some quiet time to go over my set and zone out from the world. I also always make time for a quick nap so I have lots of energy to dance all night long with the crowd. Also, never be late to airports, you will miss your flight.
Who are your musical heroes?
Nervo are absolutely amazing and inspire me in so many ways; also, Anna Lunoe. Skrillex was the first DJ I saw in Miami; his stage presence and the way he performed made me want to become a DJ.
What's on your dream rider?
A huge bowl of only purple, red and green Skittles (no one likes orange and yellow); a blow-up size SpongeBob I can surf on through the crowd; some very handsome country boys serving some chardonnay; and, of course, oversized bean bags for all my friends to sit on whilst we play Nintendo 64.
Who would you most like to tour with?
Nervo!
What was your musical epiphany?
Ultra Music Festival. I had so much fun and loved playing for such a big crowd. I had a moment where I dropped into a really deep beat and everyone went crazy and I thought to myself, "I got this, this is exactly where I want to be, festivals".
What would you be doing if you weren't a musician?
Modelling, or my dream of being a TV host.
What is something we don't know about you?
I still look under my bed every night for scary monsters.
What does the future hold?
Playing all over Australia for the beautiful summer.
Where can we catch your next gig?
Snowtunes music festival in Jindabyne, Saturday, August 15.
