How would you describe your sound: A bit less refined than other jazz players but less pretentious as well (at least I try to be). Educated and articulate but rough around the edges and with a good deal of bad manners, bad fashion and bad language.

What inspired you to start making music? Initially, being lousy at sport!
Who are your musical heroes? Jeez, how long you got? Bill Evans, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Mark Ribot, John Lee Hooker, Mos Def, Jay Z, J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Johnny Cash, Chris Thile, Mark Guiliana, James Muller, Elmore James, Lightning Hopkins, Eminem, Steve Jordan, Pino Pallidino, Ray Brown, Chopin, Tom Waits, Paul Kelly, Archie Roach, Chris Cheney.... Better stop there or I'll be up all night.

Do you have a day job? Yep, teaching guitar, drums and piano at Narre Warren South P-12 College in Melbourne.
What is your favourite thing about Canberra? Mount Majura: didn't realise how lucky I was to have such a killer place to go riding until I moved to Melbourne where I have yet to find any decent trails and where crew only ride bikes if they co-ordinate with their hair and jeans!
What is your least favourite thing about Canberra? Parliament house and all that sail in it.

What would we find in your fridge right now? Lots of beer and a bottle of milk that is probably out of date.
