Well, guess what? That guy is from Queanbeyan!
The man in question is using his roller derby alias to appear on the show - Bobby Smack, from Capital Carnage.
In reality, he's a 49-year-old IT contractor from Queanbeyan working for the Federal Government. He is also the manager of the Australian men's roller derby team off to the World Cup in Barcelona next year. But we digress.
On Friday, Bobby told us he was encouraged to apply for First Dates Australia by his mates in Capital Carnage, which plays in the Varsity Derby League.
"The joke was, 'I've tried normal dating, I've tried speed dating in a pub, I've tried online dating. Why not try TV dating?'," he said.
"It was like, 'Let's have a crack and see what happens'."
Bobby said the whole experience on the blind-date show was "quite nerve-racking". The series is filmed in a real restaurant ("the food's great!") in Sydney but there is the added pressure of cameras and microphones and crew sometimes even crawling on the floor to get something done out of shot.
Bobby said it was in that context he was trying to relax and have a joke with his date when he had a slightly awkward exchange with her when she spilled something on her hand.
"You can lick your hand if your want to....or I can lick it for you..." Bobby said, complete with wink. And, cue the music from Psycho. Thanks a lot Channel Seven.
"It was tongue-in-cheek," Bobby said. Boom. Boom.
"It was meant to relax."
And cheeky Bobby doesn't regret going on the show.
"Yeah, for a bit of a laugh," he said.
"I got to meet a whole bunch of new people and it was good to see how the television industry works.
"They were 100 per cent professional and great people to work with."
Bobby's ideal partner would be a "strong, independent type".
The woman he dated on the show was "awesome" and we'll just have to watch to see how it all pans out.
You can see Bobby in First Dates Australia on Prime7 on Tuesday at 8.40pm.
