I've focused on writing about experiences of childbirth because: I was fascinated by men's experiences (or lack thereof) in the labour room - experiences men rarely talked about and never at the pub. Most birth books are silent on the role of men, and yet there is ample evidence that well-prepared and relatively relaxed men can do wonders in making childbirth easier for their partners. In addition, a well-prepared man finds the experience of witnessing the birth of his own child quite miraculous, and greatly improves his bonding with his baby and partner.
