The best part about working in family law is: working closely with clients and other practitioners on a daily basis to bring about real, tangible change for an individual. It's particularly rewarding to be able to help people achieve a positive outcome that will have such an impact on one of the most important aspects of their life.

The worst part about working in family law is: the workload. Being a solicitor is challenging in this respect anyway, but in addition to this, the nature of family law means you are often dealing with people who are going through one of the worst and most emotional experiences of their life, in sometimes quite upsetting circumstances, and as a practitioner, that can be quite draining.

The biggest difference between living in Britain and Australia is: aside from the accents and the weather, what first hit me when I moved here was how everyone generally seemed so much more optimistic and positive about life. That and the fact that everything is so far away – having multiple time zones in one country took some getting used to.

My proudest moment on stage was: my first ever play in year 7. I was a rather shy, nervous 11-year-old, so it was incredibly empowering to be on stage in front of all these people and suddenly discover a newfound confidence and ability that I had no idea I could have. Needless to say, after my first taste of applause, I was hooked.

My most embarrassing moment on stage was: whenever I've had to dance. It is simply not a skill I possess. Whenever I'm in a musical, I'm the one in the chorus line dancing slightly out of time to everybody else. I think it's safer for everyone if I stay away from musicals.

Cecily Cardew is: a greatly underrated character. She can be a little silly and impatient but she's smart, strong-willed and decisive. She craves excitement in any form and is somewhat mischievous but still endearingly naive with little regard to the expectations of society. Most importantly as an actress, she's good fun to play. But then again, I would willingly portray any character written by Oscar Wilde!
