"I am a dad so dad jokes are a mainstay," he said.

Mr Brown is responsible for one of the new Canturf signs on the Monaro Highway:

"Putin the seed and it comes up Trumps."

The father-of-two (to Makayla, 9, and Cooper, five) says he's no punmeister and it's probably taken him 10 years to come up with a winning suggestion.

His creative juices got flowing when he was buying some turf from Canturf over the summer.

"So it was during the heatwave laying some turf that I got to thinking," he said.

Then newly-elected US president Donald Trump was assuming office and inspiration soon struck.

"I thought it was quite topical," he said.

He sent in his suggestion and loves the result, seeing his words on a sign appreciated by thousands of motorists each day.

"It's really quite an honour," he said.

The other people who came up with the other two new Canturf signs did not want their identity revealed.

Canturf has been around for 51 years. It comes up with the funny signs or else takes suggestions from the public.

Its website reads: "If you've come up with an funny turf-related saying and think it'd make a good Canturf sign, send it in If your idea is original and gets used by us, you will be paid $250 for your efforts".
