La De Da is turning three. Perched above Ha Ha bar in Belconnen, a host to a myriad of creative types, the happening Belconnen bar plans to throw one major birthday bash to celebrate all the creative eggs it has helped hatch. Called Scrambled, blending music, fashion, mixed-media, street art and street food, this hyper, yet carefully curated event has more than a little going on.

"Essentially what we're doing is, anyone that's plugged in with us throughout the year, we've invited them all back to throw one big party," co-owner Aaron Ridley says.
"I did the shout out a few months ago, expecting a little bit of interest. But everyone was keen. So that meant that we needed more real estate, because there were just too many promoters, record labels and art collectives taking part to fit into the La De Da space."
To make room for everything that is happening, Ridley is taking over the downstairs Ha Ha bar for the night and is also letting events spill outside.
"We're going to close the restaurant and do a street food market and do a stage down there. And we've also got a licencse to do something out the front," he says, explaining he plans to hold a hip-hop cypher, involving a bunch of rap artists not doing sets but passing the mic around and freestyling, there will be seven MCs, a pair of turntables and plenty of beats.
Moving from outside in, the Ha Ha bar will have casual jams in the early afternoon, followed by the Burner Collective, a group of beat makers who do periodic releases of original electronic music, showcasing two of their artists, Bottle Brush and Clamore. After that, Blahnket, an indie electronic promoter, will be curating the stage and offering three acts, 30/70, Spirals and Defcat. This will be followed by Gunwave, an offering from Canberra record label, Early Music Australia.
A group art show will also be In the Ha Ha space. "We do live art battles," Ridley says. "So we've invited 12 people that have participated in the art battles to do a board for us. Three of them will be doing it live on the night."
Finally, up in the La De Da space will be a range of acts, including Yum Yum, Magnifik and 17-year-old Deiblu. There will be a fashion parade from Perpetually Five and appearances by Architect DJs, Alex and Joel and numerous others.
"It's pretty much trying to get as much original, creative Canberra content, and trying to pick up all the groups that are pushing that in Canberra for one big throw down of a party," Ridley says.
