Kim Bagot-Hiller's grandmother first taught her how to draw flowers, a skill she then took into a science career where admits she spent most of her time in botany drawing plants instead of photocopying diagrams. After working as an environmental consultant Bagot-Hiller realised her passion was in the visual arts and she began attending art courses. Now she's doing what she loves, specialising in print-making and illustrative techniques, crossing the boundaries of art and science. Point of Difference showcases plants held in a little known treasure of the NSW Central West, the the Burrendong Botanic Gardens and Arboretum near Wellington, which is known for its collection of Western Australian flowering trees and for the art exhibition Bagot-Hiller has focused on grevilleas, hakeas and eucalypts, aiming to show elements of difference in Australian native flora. At the National Botanic Gardens, Acton, until May 21, 2017.
