Hutchinson, who is one of the founding partners of the agency, will step aside from his role as managing director at the end of the year.

He will not completely cut ties with the company though, and remains a stakeholder.

"Zoo's been amazing for me and I love it - nothing's changed there. And I'm still a stakeholder - it's not like I'm leaving and it's all done. So it's not like I've lost the love or anything. It's just, it's 15 years. And I'm going in a different direction but I'm still a part of it."

Instead, Hutchinson is planning to focus on a number of creative endeavours around Canberra, with even more in the pipeline.

Hutchinson and wife Andrea Hutchinson will continue to focus on annual fashion event Fashfest, which they launched four years ago, with plans to grow the event into New Zealand.

The duo also launched modelling agency HAUS Models, and Hutchinson said they plan to grow it into an even bigger talent agency.

"We'll be looking at musicians and photographers and hopefully hair and makeup artists and start to actually work side-by-side with them from a management point of view. It's what I see as the first foot in the door with these great amazing creative people to have some sort of business management behind them so that they can be creative," he said.

"So both Andrea and I will hopefully get the opportunity to help them grow their businesses and expose them to the rest of the country."

Also up their sleeve is expanding new kids fashion label, NOMI, which they debuted on the final night of this year's Fashfest.

"It was a little bit of an experiment for us, but it's just our life stage with having two young kids, 3 and 14 months," he said.

"We'd like to continually grow this label to be able to provide really great quality, edgy kids clothes, that are wearable, look good, but knowing that you grow out of it really fast, it gets really dirty and messy and that's actually affordable. So we've got major plans on that front."

Hutchinson is further involved in the local fashion industry, becoming a partner in Braddon Tailors. The local designers who made made-to-measure suits have just opened a store in Adelaide, with plans to expand further throughout Australia.

While they're still a bit hush hush about the details for now, the Hutchinsons also have plans to launch a creative incubator of sorts launching early 2017. It will combine a commercial coffee-shop-esque front and hot desks and an office.

Hutchinson said working with and developing creatives is where his heart lies.

"That's what began my journey at Zoo really at the end of the day, working with creatives. And it's just now I want to work with them and help them grow their businesses and hopefully be a part of that. So it's what gets me up in the morning," he said.

"And I love this town more than anything so that's the decision to go, you know what, I want to grow and put my effort and time and hopefully skills into those creative areas."
